Women have the ability to be powerful, fearless leaders that deserve to be heard. Cultivating Courage is a research study and project led by Olive Yonge of the University of Alberta that dives into the realities of what it can be like as a woman in a leadership role, facing the the challenges of status and struggle for power. Acting as a resource for cultivating both inner and outer courage, Cultivating My Courage is a journal and workbook for both groups and indivduals. Combining imagery with space for reflection, it serves as a resource for women of all backgrounds.
A second element of the Cultivating Courage project took shape in the form of a coffee table book. Dig Down and Do is full of photography that depicts the beauty of the world around us. Paired with quotes from over 80 women in academia across Canada, Dig Down and Do is a relatable, encouraging, and enjoyable read.
The final component of Cultivating Courage is a sleek website, designed to be a landing pad for anyone interested in collaborating with Olive Yonge or accessing her resources. Consistent colours and visual elements paired with an easy-to-use navigation path make cultivatecourage.org a useful and beautiful tool.
